At Trace, we recognize that the safety and quality of drinking water are essential to overall health and well-being. As a State of Michigan certified drinking water laboratory, we offer a comprehensive range of analytical services designed to address water quality concerns and support regulatory compliance.
Trace delivers complete drinking water testing solutions, ranging from a simple total coliform analysis to the advanced detection of synthetic organic compounds (SOCs) and PFAS. Metals testing remains a critical service for municipalities, schools, residences, and childcare facilities, and we are proud to offer reliable lead and copper analysis to clients throughout Michigan. In response to growing concerns around emerging contaminants, Trace is now fully accredited to perform PFAS testing in drinking water. For a full list of certifications and analytical capabilities, please contact us or visit our Certifications page.
For municipal clients, we also provide a broad range of regulated testing services, including PFAS, Total Organic Carbon (TOC), Specific UV Absorbance (SUVA), free cyanide, disinfection by-products, and SOCs.
To serve as a comprehensive resource, Trace partners with other accredited subcontract laboratories for services outside of our scope and coordinates sample containers and analysis to simplify the process and reduce the need for managing multiple laboratories. Third-party sample collection services are also available for an additional fee and may be scheduled through one of our Project Managers.
Our mission is to provide a seamless and efficient testing experience. Sample collection containers for routine analyses can be picked up at Trace during normal business hours without an appointment. Our standard turnaround time for drinking water analyses is 7–10 business days (excluding subcontracted services). Expedited and rush options are available for an additional charge.
Detailed sampling instructions can be found on our Downloads & Resources page.
